It's a live snapshot of me and the fellas playing some favorite tracks that hadn't been captured yet on record over two days. It includes takes on John Coltrane's 'Afro Blue', Blind Alfred Reed's 'How Can A Poor Man Stand Such Times And Live', Mississippi Fred McDowell's 'Mortgage on My Soul' and a new Meter's inspired cut, and a free jazz take on 'Higher Plane.' I hadn't planned on releasing something so fast but couldn't be prouder of this snapshot in time. It's honestly my best playing ever captured!

Adam Abrashoff came up with this insane Afro Beat groove and I just started playing it over that. It was really fun to play and over time it became a staple of our show. It was one of many I just wanted to get down on tape before too much time went on."
