2LP set capturing The Smiths live in Amsterdam on their 1984 tour of Europe.
The Smiths' self-titled debut album, was released in February 1984, following the success of several early singles, including "Hand in Glove" and "This Charming Man".
The debut was an immediate commercial success. It peaked in the UK Albums Chart at number two and remained there for 33 weeks. A European tour followed, marked by a series of performances that showcased the band's urgent and unfiltered live sound. The standout concert of the tour was undoubtedly their appearance at Theater de Meervaart in Amsterdam on 21 April 1984, part of the ‘Night of the Action’ festival. This performance captured The Smiths at a critical early peak: intense, tightly focused, and brimming with the raw energy they believed their studio recordings lacked, offering a lasting testament to their formidable presence on stage during this formative phase, sure to delight all fans of this seminal group.
