The “Mi Historia Americana - Sur” LP by Daniil Trifonov and the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra is being released on Deutsche Grammophon; it is announced as a single LP in an orange EcoRecord edition with the subtitle “The Encores.” This edition focuses on a compact selection from the larger “American Story” project and brings Trifonov together in concertante partnership with the orchestra, with the vinyl version highlighting the encores from the series and presenting them as a self-contained listening experience.
At the center of the recording is Daniil Trifonov as the fully articulated focal point, performing both pianistic solo passages and arranged pieces with orchestral accompaniment; the collaboration with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra provides the orchestral foundation for this selection. The release follows the concept of his “American Story” series and connects with Trifonov’s more recent recordings and transcriptions, which reflect his engagement with South and Central American sound worlds. The LP thus offers a focused snapshot of the project and documents the musical connection between pianistic artistry and symphonic accompaniment.
