Boris Records is proud to present Volume 2 of the Atlanta Metal Underground Archives. This boxset contains three demos critical to the development of the Atlanta scene in the heady days of the '90's. The intent is to present authentic documents reflecting the ethos of the time. Although the music has been mastered lightly for cassette, this release is true to philosophy and culture of the time. There is no new art, no new layout, no modern tampering - the three works of unrelenting, underground metal. Rot - Diabolus (The Unholy Rot) Rot drew power from the same down-tuned dirges of Swedish death metal luminaries Entombed as well as early Carcass and the concentrated grindcore riffage of Napalm Death's debut album Scum. In the process, they created a primitive and harsh sound, anticipating what would come just a few short years later. For a host of reasons, however, Diabolus would sadly be their only release. Procostimus - Synthesis of Rebirth Destruction wrought by the gods. The sack of Lindisfarne. The will to destroy. Grasslands vomiting ravaging hordes and the inevitable collapse of warrior culture. These are the themes explored on Synthesis of Rebirth. To ground these motifs, Procostimus melded melodic black metal, epic death metal and the angular thrash of mid-period Voivod to fashion the soundtrack of civilization's collapse and decay. Lestregus Nosferatus - Oh Come All Ye Faithful...Tonight We Feast Formed in 1988 by ex-members of Hallow's Eve, Lestregus Nosferatus is one of the earliest and well known death metal acts to emerge from Atlanta. In the same year as their formation they released their eponymous demo tape and became notorious for their punishing and theatrical live shows. Throughout the early to mid 1990's, Lestregus Nosferatus would continue to record and play live with a fluctuating lineup (often including members of Hallow's Eve). The band would go dormant after 1995, briefly reuniting in 2011
