This album was recorded at the legendary Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, and the beautiful tones captured in that cathedral to jazz are perfect for the vinyl format, which reveals the full range of details in the playing: soft subtones, clashing cymbals, dynamic leaps, thundering rolls. All the rest of the work on the record—mastering, pressing, printing, graphic design—was completed in North Carolina.
