Over two decades and nine studio albums into a storied career, which has helped define American roots reggae, GROUNDATION is back with their 10th studio album, ONE ROCK, which keeps their legend alive and pushes their sound and spirit ever forward.
Harrison Stafford leads the current line up of the band through 9 intense songs with complex arrangements, moving melodies, and lyrics that touch on the human condition, human spirit, and the state of the world.
Always a group to respect their elders and forebears, Groundation makes history by bringing together the legendary reggae vocal groups Israel Vibration and The Abyssinians on one track, while also working with the Congos on another.
"As with all Groundation releases, this was recorded strictly analog to 2” tape, with Jim Fox (Lion and Fox Studios) recording and mixing. The vinyl version of the album is printed in a gorgeous gatefold jacket on 180 gram vinyl.
Focus track: Iron (feat. Israel Vibrations) "Groundation has helped to define modern American roots reggae since its first recordings in 1999 and is one of the biggest American reggae bands on the live circuit throughout Europe and South America. Now working with Easy Star, they are working to increase their following in their home country as well. ""Iron's"" lyrics are a stark cry to the listener, informing them that there will be great difficulties and setbacks in life, but that this rocky road is what will mold and shape your character; as lead singer Harrison Stafford sings ""through all the hills and valleys that we must navigate brings the wisdom of life, a spiritual strength and vision!""

""Iron"" is also the 2nd of two songs on the record to feature the legendary Jamaican group Israel Vibration and here in this piece singers Wiss and Skelly are passing and exchanging phrases between them, something never before heard on any previous song!

Finally the ending of ""Iron"" crescendos in emotion through a dueling horn solo between the trumpet and trombone, and ending in Harrison's lead voice along with Wiss and Skelly ""Just as sure as you find yourself, you will see, it comes again."" Positioned just at the right place this song becomes the ideal finish to GROUNDATION's monumental album ONE ROCK."
